Lawrence Howard is a storyteller and creative who transplanted himself
in Portland from New York City more than 40 years ago. Known as the
"Homer of Portland," Lawrence has created several solo shows in his
Armchair Adventurer series, including his well-known story of Ernest
Shackleton's 1914 voyage of the Endurance called Shackleton's Antarctic
He is deeply dedicated to the investigation of rich language, poignant exchange with the audience and an artful search for truth. Lawrence has performed throughout the Pacific Northwest, Off Broadway in NYC, and in Europe.
Lawrence draws from his rich repertoire of historical research, admiration for adventure, and personal experience to create narrative programs for people from all walks of life.
